OK, well we got them right before Christmas but I didn’t have time to put these up until now. Here is a preview of both our wedding album. I’ll have pictures of the honeymoon album in the next post.
Thanks Jay! Our wedding album is a Graphistudio album that I ordered through our wedding photographer. Unfortunately, you have to go through a professional photographer or designer to order from them.
Almost all flushmount album companies only work with professional photographers and/or designers but there are a few places online you can order one. They tend to be very expensive though.
Thanks for the info and the fast response! My photographer hasn’t previously offered albums, but I’m talking to him about designing my own and then having him place the order–I’ve been looking at Graphistudio and Pictobook.
Can I also ask if you’ve ever worked with Photoshop Elements? So far I’ve only used The Gimp, and I’m trying to figure out if I need to plunk down the cash for the full version of Photoshop or if Elements would work.
The short answer is I would recommend you get Photoshop Elements. I haven’t used Elements in a while but from what I know of it you should be able to do everything in my blog in it. You may have to use the help feature to find tools because they may not be in the same spots.
The one thing I know you can’t do in Elements that you can do in CS2/3 is soft proofing. I’ve only recently used that feature while I was making my album for Blurb so that I could see what how the printer would print it (there are some ways to get around this though). If you’re using Graphistudio, however, you won’t need to worry about this. Your photographer should give you the color profiles you need to use.
Honestly, the only reason I’ve bought CS2 and CS3 is because I got a huge discount on them while I was still in college through the university.

P.S. Leave a comment on one of my posts if you do end up using Graphistudio. Your photographer should be able to get you some info on how you need to have everything set up for submitting to Graphi (if not I can get that to you too). I did have to make a couple calls to Graphi to figure out some simple things though. For example, unlike most bound books you open up to a full spread instead of a single page.
Oh, and we got a 9.5×13″ album with the crystal glance cover. We also upgraded it to metallic paper for both the cover and the pages. I would highly suggest the metallic pages. They make both the color and B&W pictures really pop! Plus, they automatically laminate the pages if they are metallic (also highly recommend the lamination I don’t want to know how it would have looked after taking it to show our families at Christmas).
At the time (right before Christmas) they had a deal where we could buy two 6×8 parents albums for $100. I have some pictures I plan to post of those books if you’re interested.
Robin… Me again, The font I am looking for is the hand writen Font used above… on the cover and window where “Robin & Jeremy” is writen.20 slides above.
Just a note to say your wedding album is so beautiful. I just got married and I’m trying to see if I could create my own photoalbum. I have photoshop but I’m such a novice at it. Would you mind if I ask you a few questions on how you created the photo spread that you did on photoshop. They are absolutely gorgeous by the way.
I’m not an artist.
I’m not a photographer.
I’m not a designer.
I’m a mechanical engineer.
I’m a left brained thinker who exercises my right brain for fun and relaxation. I have no formal art training but I enjoy teaching myself new things.
That is absolutely gorgeous! I am very inspired by your layouts and Photoshop tips. What album company did you use for the wedding album?
