i have never used used photoshop or indesign. in fact, never used any eidting software other that what comes standard with windows. i want to make a blurb book of landscape picture my husband took for christmas. i would ove to be able to do spreads across two pages. 1. which software do you recommend as easiest to learn for this purpose? i would like to try to follow your tutorials.

Thanks soooooooooooooooooo much Robin. I am in my final year at Uni and decided to use a Blurb Book to hand in my final assessment for one of my classes and I found the Blogs on the Blurb Forum frustrating to follow and contradicting. I was starting to stress out because time was ticking and I had to finish my Blurb Book and someone on the forum linked you to the discussion and I am so glad they did. Your information is awesome and has saved me so much time, I only wish that I had found it sooner. Once again thanks a million!

Hi Robin:

Just a note to say your wedding album is so beautiful. I just got married and I’m trying to see if I could create my own photoalbum. I have photoshop but I’m such a novice at it. Would you mind if I ask you a few questions on how you created the photo spread that you did on photoshop. They are absolutely gorgeous by the way.

The before photo looks like it’s already been cropped into something like a 5:4 ratio. Most cameras do not capture images in such a dimension.

The after crop is more like 4:6 ratio.

Hi Robin,

Thank you for providing the tutorial. The results are great and was perfect on the softcover book.

My question is on the hardcover, it is off a little bit because of the binding process do you recommend to add another 0.125″ (image’s width resized to X” – 0.375″)?
